Kia EV5 UK pricing and specs announced
Kia has officially revealed the UK pricing and specifications for the brand-new EV5, an all-electric SUV set to ruffle some feathers in the UK’s hugely popular family car market. With a starting price from just £39,295 and a healthy range of up to 329 miles, the EV5 looks ready to take on the competition head-on.

The new EV5 is a five-seater that sits alongside Kia’s best-selling Sportage, offering a fully electric alternative to the much-loved hybrid and internal combustion engine models. It's a key part of Kia's plan to launch nine new EVs in the UK by 2027, and it's built on the same 81.4kWh battery pack found in the new EV3 and EV4, enabling that impressive 329-mile range.
Under the bonnet, or rather, the 'frunk' (a handy 44-litre storage space), the EV5 is powered by a single, front-mounted electric motor delivering 160kW (214bhp). This means it can do the 0-62mph sprint in a respectable 8.4 seconds and has a top speed of 102mph.
Charging is also a straightforward affair thanks to Kia’s 400V architecture. A quick top-up from 10 to 80 per cent takes just 30 minutes when you're using a 150kW DC rapid charger, while a full charge on an 11kW AC home charger takes a little over seven hours.
Driving an electric car doesn't mean you have to sacrifice on space or practicality. The EV5 is slightly larger than the Sportage, giving you more room inside. There's a generous 566-litre boot with all seats up, expanding to a massive 1,650 litres with the second row folded down! The boot floor is also adjustable, so you can choose between a flat load space and maximum capacity, which is a neat little touch.
Inside, the EV5 is packed with all the latest tech. It features Kia’s new connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) across a stunning three-screen dashboard layout. This includes two 12.3-inch displays for the driver and infotainment, plus a separate 5.3-inch touchscreen for climate control. As with the new EV3, the EV5 also has Kia’s AI Assistant, powered by ChatGPT, making the voice assistant even smarter and more helpful for everything from trip planning to answering your burning questions about the owner's manual.
Kia is keeping it simple with a familiar three-trim line-up. Here’s a quick look at what each one brings to the table.
